The Gedeb region is divided into 16 administrative districts, one of which is Walka Sakaro. Walka means "gold" in the Gedeo language. When a subordinate of Ethiopia's last emperor, Haile Selassie, visited this area, he was impressed by the hospitality of the people and named the area "Walka". There is also a giant tree in this area that people affectionately call "Sakaro", and the two combined to form the place name "Walka Sakaro".

The cherries brought in are hand-picked again before processing, and only the most ripe cherries are carefully selected and accepted. Thorough management raises the awareness of producers and harvesting accuracy, and maintains stable quality. In the washed process, the pH value and purity of the water used are constantly measured and thoroughly managed to maintain clean water quality, resulting in the production of high-quality coffee.

The fertile soil at an altitude of over 1,900m produces cherries of the finest quality, which are then slowly and carefully refined to bring out the elegant and complex aroma that is unique to Yirgacheffe.
