INDONESIA MUNTHE DRYMILL DOLOK SANGGUL

Indonesia Munte Dry Mill Drossan Gur

Top Specialty Mandheling

This Drossan Gur is located in the Linton region, which is said to produce the unique flavor and full-bodied coffee of Indonesian Arabica coffee, and to inherit the tradition and pride. The Drossan Gur region is located on the southern shore of Lake Toba, at an altitude of over 1,400m, and the soil is black volcanic soil, which produces a special Mandheling with a refreshing fruity taste including exotic earthy notes.

Munte Mill aims for thorough quality

The man in charge here is Charles Munthe. His dry mill receives high-quality GABA (wet parchment) from around 130 surrounding farms. Mr. Munthe named this drying area Given, after his beloved son. The collected GABA has the parchment removed and becomes green coffee, which is then dried in a covered drying area (gibun) to be turned into emerald green beans unique to the Sumatran style. Indonesia has a lot of rainfall all year round and can experience sudden changes in weather, which is why this unique production and processing method, known as the Sumatran style, was established. To cope with this climate, Mr. Munthe built a greenhouse drying area, which is rare in Indonesia, in an effort to improve quality.

The beans are then gravity sorted and screened at a special factory in Medan, and finally hand picked to produce a clean, fruity Drosangur worthy of the name of specialty coffee.
