Rwanda Bunga CWS

Bunga CWS is located in Nyabihu County in northern Rwanda. It was established in March 2009 and is run by a women-led cooperative with 260 members.

Nyabihu County is blessed with steep hills, deep misty valleys, and an altitude of 2,000m, giving it a terroir that sets it apart from other areas. It is also located near the Virunga National Park, a natural water source and a group of volcanoes, making it an ideal environment for coffee production.

The yield and scale of Bunga CWS is relatively small among the CWS, and it is hidden away among thousands of banana trees, but it has great potential and has achieved brilliant results in the Rwanda Cup of Excellence, which it has participated in twice, coming in 13th place in 2012 and 4th place in 2014. This high-quality coffee has a unique and elegant flavor in addition to the soft citrus acidity that is typical of Rwanda.
