What is Abaca?
Abaca, commonly known as Manila hemp, is a perennial plant native to the Philippines. The fibers extracted from Abaca are half the thickness of softwood, yet their strength is four times that of wood pulp. By blending this flexible and strong Abaca pulp into paper, a coffee filter with excellent liquid permeability was created.
